If this place was this dreary all the time you could forget about him staying here. Today in Citadel, rain came down in a steady drizzle. The small convoy of horses and riders made their way over the edge boarder lands of King Victor's lands. Victor was his half uncle like twice removed? Who knows how they were related but he had been shipped away from his home far east to live with Victor for the time being. There was trouble back home and his kingdom couldn't afford him to be killed like his family.
Axel's parents and brother were killed by someone attacking the royal family. Axel had been lucky to escape to attempts for his life. Now, the council had agreed to send him away to this place where he would stay on the down low as much as possible. Axel wasn't sure if he would ever be able to get used to the weather here. Back home, the sun was always out and rain wasn't really an issue. They lived upon the coast were it, oddly, never really rained. Here it was cloudy and rain was falling from the skys at a steady rate.
Glancing at the guards around him, they were all trained upon the growing shadow of a castle they were approaching. He trusted these men with his life but once they arrived they would be returning to his home, without him. His crystal blue eyes were a dull dark blue to reflect his mood you could say. His dark cloak he wore was already done with its rain protection, as were the guards'.
Within a few minutes, the sound of thundering hooves against the courtyard ground. Horses whinnied as the new type of horses slowed to a halt. The guards stayed neared they're last living royal member. A sigh came from Axel as he had his eyes trained on the horses mane in front of him. One of his guards heard. "Do not fret my lord. This is for your safety." "I know." was all he answered with.

Alanna was irritable from the weather it made for poor conditions to go for a ride like the ones she normally went on. She couldn't practice because she had been given a duty that morning. It made her mood all the more brighter than it was learning about it. She was to babysit some prince.
Most likely she would be criticized by her gender and questioned on her ability or scoffed on her temperament. Well to bad she was no horse to be commented and disregarded when displeased with. She would do as she always did. Mind her temper, and do her job.
So now she stood in the rain hands clasped before her back straight. Stiff. A oiled cloak helped keep the rain from soaking her like a few other smarter gaurds of the palace. But her hair was tied tightly back and soaked just to keep it best from her eyes as she could. So when the prince and his guard came she waited till most the guards were not so clustered near him. Moving foward she bowed deep to him.
"My Prince", she said holding out a paper to him explaining her possition having been careful to keep it dry. It alwasy spoke of the king being busy and would see him whenever he could manage. Alanna waited for his words or reaction.

Hearing the shift of the ranks around him, his eyes moved to the figure that was standing in front of him. Glancing at his guards, he figured this was who had been assigned to keep charge of him. Dismounting from his his dark bay looking horse. He was actually a chestnut with a large blaze upon his forehead. but the rain was effecting his color. Raider, the horse's name shook his head when Axel dismounted. He was also uncomfortable in the rain.
When the lady bowed to him, he was actually surprised that they would actually recognize him as a prince since he wasn't really wasn't their prince. When she handed him the paper he took it watching her with those dull blue eyes. They ran over the words written as he found he was correct that she was the one who was looking over him. Glancing at the guard who had spoken to him he nodded. He nodded back and looked over her. "Take care of him. We still have a hard time trusting you and King Victor." With that, the convoy turned and made their way from the court yard. Now he was stuck, unable to leave. With another sigh he turned back to her, or Alanna, the paper had read. "It doesn't always rain here does it?" It sounded like a childish remark but he wasn't in the mood for all that formality crap.

Dark eyes gazed sharply over the ranks that came with him. A firm telling to my the king and her commander had told her to treat the forgien prince like he was their own. So she did. It didn't mean she liked it. The smallest hints of a smirk crossed her lips.
Hearing a guard speak to her she gave a curt nod but said nothing. Watcing them go before her gazed turned on him. Hearing his words it took most her self control to not roll her eyes. "Oh no, normally the sun is out and the birds chirp and the children laugh and play while ther mother sew and their fathers work", her taunt tones rich with the sarcasm that she used so often. The remebering her-self she bowed her head. "Forgive me. I'll show ou to your room. When you are better suited I shall take you any place you wish", she said boredly.
It was clear to anyone she disliked the idea of watching over this young man. Her fellow guards had a good lauh over this idea till she glared at them sending them into a slince till she left the room to have laughter roar when she closed the door. Everyone in the castle knew Alanna's lack of paitence, short temper, and sarcastic ways. But she always followed orders as she was told. Should this foriegner find her temperment irritating she could careless. Shoot she would laugh should he strike her a few of those who didn't mind her nature betted with her over small details like such.

He stared at her as she spoke those words covered in sarcasm. It wasn't the fact that she spoke them to him, it was just the fact she didn't seem to thrilled about watching over him. He wasn't thrilled either about being here in general but knew that being watched was necessary since his kingdom's council would have someone's head if he was left alone. He stared at her for a second longer to catch the next sentence from her and then nodded slowly. "Ok.."
He really hoped that it would stop raining eventually since he liked to be in the sun, especially to just lay in it. So he was slightly on the weird side as his ability could qualify as one of the weirdest ones in the book. He could only wonder what her reaction would be if he could ever use it. That was one of the limits he has on trying to be her as unnoticed as possible. The killer after him knew what to look for when searching for him.
As he followed Alanna he began to wonder if she was lucky enough to have an ability as well. He wasn't sure if he should ask though. Last question didn't go over as gently as he thought. Still, he decided to give another try. "So, um, Alanna, not to seem to curious but, do you have an ability?" So he sounded like a crazy easily amazed kid when he said it. He was amused easily at times though.

Alanna lead him inside. Working her way threw the halls. Silent and grim as always. Pulling her cloak off as she lead him. It revealed the sword at her side as it always was. And her normal red shirt and black breaches and boots. Shoving the cloak in the arms of a maid who they passed as she made her way up the stairs.
Hearing his question she stopped half up the stairs and looked at him. Now he caught her attention. Eyes narrowed a moment then she shrugged. "I heal", she said simply. Turning she headed back up the stairs. After a few more halls and a flight of stairs she nodded to a door she stopped by to indicate that it was his room. Her tone not so harsh as it was at first. This young man would be of some intrest at the very least.

He moved the cloak hood down to reveal his shaggy like hair. It brought some light back to his blue eyes but not enough to make them their normal color. When she halted on the stairs he stared at her for a second but when she answered he let a small smile on his lips. "Oh, I put people to sleep." He stated like it was simple as that but it was anything but. He hadn't used the ability to a large amount. Just on a few people that he didn't really like but that was that.
He followed after her and when she nodded to the door in the hall, he figured it was his room. Reaching for the door he opened it and stepped inside, leaving the door open for her if she wanted to enter as well. He looked over the room. He could live with it. Nothing huge needed to be done. There was a window but nothing interesting except rain could be seen from it.

The fact he seemed almost childish in his words and actions was rather strange to her. But she was used to when she was around people either being lectured, and argument start up, a fight start, or they tend to try and ingore her. So what did she know of people. As was his lack of caring of her temperment. But she shrugged it off.
Alanna watched as he went in the room and looked around. Standing just in the doorway she watched him a moment. "Simply speak up when you want something. I am to follow your orders so long as you folow mine in matters of your safty", she said simply tones held no emotion same as her face. She was still irritable but only slightly so. It was more of she was bursting with energy not having done much that day but wait.

His eyes were still trained upon the window showing off the gloomy world. His ability also allowed him to spread snake skin over his skin, making him enjoy the sun, and not the rain. It wasn't something he needed, it was just what he liked. So rain could always put him into a depressed like mood. The weather wasn't the main cause about it today. When she spoke about his safety, like he figured, he would be watched closely. Least she didn't seem like the person to make him sit in a room all day long and don't do anything.
Turning towards her he nodded. "Alright. So what are the orders for my safety?" He didn't enjoy talking about the person, or people who were targeting him, since, well, they killed his entire main family! They also got him shipped off here. But he was still the prince as he wasn't of age to take over for his father and thus, he didn't have a say in what happens to him.

Alanna watched him silently as he stared out the window waiting as still as she could. But her fingers lightly tapped the etal of her sword hilt. Perhaps she could coax one of the men into a spar even in the rain if she got a chyance to get away from this prince.
"Live. I will follow you about likea good little doggy and be sure you stay from trouble. I won't put to much effort in it unless needed", she said boredly. "Your not the kind to stay insideand study all day are you", she asked a brow went up. Hoping she got a more outdoorsy one to watch than some bookworm that would force her to be inside, She woul suffercate inside for moe than a few hours.

The way she stood gave him the impression that she had a bunch of energy built up as she tapped her fingers. He watched and listened carefully as she spoke up. The way she portrayed her job gave him the vibe that he was considered the nuisance of her life. He didn't want her to feel completely bored for having to watch over him, so he decided that he was going to try and not bug her much. At her question he smiled and shook his head. "No way. I can't stand being inside all the time. One reason I was wondering about the weather."

Alanna smirked at his reply. To smile would be asking to much of her just yet. No trust was for this young man. She had a hard time with that matter in all. "Well then perhaps we can get along on a small level", she said with a curt nod. Dark eyes looked about. "What do you wish to do now", she asked shifting her weight ever so slightly. It was hard to stand still and be inside. She would rather sleep outdoors than in a bed like others that was howmuch she disliked the indoors.

So she didn't hate him that much yet, that was good to hear. Now he headed over to the bed and took a seat to look at her without standing. He wasn't tired one bit he was checking to see how soft the bed was but shh.. Don't let anyone know. He looked up at the ceiling like he was deep in thought before looking back over at her. "Well, I have no idea what there is to do, so I'll ask you, want is there to do?" He was a very down to earth prince.

Jaw twicthed when he sat down and looked at the ceilng. Waiting for his reply and when she got it she shifted unsure. She tugged her ponytail toughtfully. Sad really she had to think on it. Her idea of fun was a spare or riding. Her needs were simple. Oh not to mention a good arguement was fun as well. "Well.... Um", she stopped and let her hand drop from fiddling with her drying hair. "I'm not much for what others think fun. I'm a fighter. Thats my job and life. Give me a bow and arrow, an axe, or a sword and I'm happy to do what you ask weither fight, spar, or practice. Oherwise I'm afumbling new born babe", she said bluntly. Everyone knew it. Other than fighting she was big on animals loved them one of her only real weaknesses along with a select few others.

Head cocked slightly to one side as he watched her stumble on something to say. When she said she was mostly a fighter he didn't think of who he wanted to think of at that exact moment. He had never been good at fighting. He had only learned defensive moves to get away from someone attacking. His brother, was the fighter. He quickly focused back on her. "I've never been to great at fighting. Just learned defensive and 'get away' moves." He wasn't excited about that was all that he knew but it had saved him already.
